Setting Expectations and Using Schedules to Support Children

Research and practice has shown the positive effect Early Childhood Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (EC PBIS) can have on children’s social/emotional development. Two of the key practices within EC PBIS are using clear expectations and visual schedules. This presentation will look at the importance of expectations and visual schedules and how to implement them in both the classroom and home environment. Attendees will also learn about free resources to help support the implementation of expectations and visual schedules.

At the end of this session the participant will be able to:
  • Create expectations for the classroom or home environment.
  • Create and use a visual daily schedule in the classroom or home environment.
